Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.05%
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.05 per cent down at 25217.6.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a negative note on Wednesday.Shares of Exide Industries Ltd.(up 2.25 per cent), Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 1.94 per cent), Bharat Forge Ltd.(up 1.81 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(up 1.76 per cent) and Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 0.94 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.7 per cent), TVS Motor Company Ltd.(down 0.9 per cent), Apollo Tyres Ltd.(down 0.72 per cent), MRF Ltd.(down 0.15 per cent) and Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(down 0.13 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.05 per cent down at 25217.6.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 58.11 points at 23322.95, while the BSE Sensex stood up 149.98 points at 76606.57.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 ended in the green, while 16 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Hind Const Co, YES Bank, Reliance Power and IRB Infra Dev. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of ICE Make Refrigeration, OM Metal Infra, Gravita India, Associated Alcohols & Breweries and Panache Digilife hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Karda Const, Osia Hyper Retail, Kronox Lab Sciences, Kanani Inds and GIR Natureview hit their fresh 52-week lows.
