Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.01% in an upbeat market

Apollo Tyres Ltd.(down 2.9 per cent), Exide Industries Ltd.(down 2.17 per cent), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 2.02 per cent), Bosch Ltd.(down 1.02 per cent) and Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(down 0.92 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was down 0.01 per cent at 22538.25 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 39.41 points at 22515.25, while the BSE Sensex was up 306.78 points at 74184.93.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 were trading in the green, while 22 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, PNB, NHPC and REC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of The Anup Engg, Ganges Securities, Gokul Agro Resources, Rainbow Childrens and Rane(Madras)hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while MPS Infotecnics, Signpost India, Ibull Housing Fin(PP), Zee Ent. and JNK India hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
