Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.01% in a weak market

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 1.41 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.03 per cent), Tube Investments of India Ltd.(down 0.88 per cent), Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(down 0.29 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 0.27 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was down 0.01 per cent at 21982.0 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 110.75 points at 22643.05, while the BSE Sensex was down 409.67 points at 74628.48.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 were trading in the green, while 35 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Reliance Power, Reliance Infra and Bharti Hexacom were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Ashiana Housing, D P Abhushan, Ramco Systems, Krystal Integrated and Atlanta Ltd hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while MEP Infrastructure, Visagar Polytex, Stampede Cap, Antarctica Ltd and Mittal Life Style hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
