Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.91% in an upbeat market

Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 0.46 per cent), Tube Investments of India Ltd.(down 0.28 per cent) and Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd.(down 0.09 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 0.91 per cent at 21228.75 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 144.15 points at 22148.85, while the BSE Sensex was up 493.67 points at 72963.97.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 37 were trading in the green, while 13 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Indian Railway Fin, NHPC and Zee Ent. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Onelife Capital, Bharat Bijlee, Lakshmi Machine, Hindustan Media and ABB India hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while TIL Ltd, Popular Vehicles, Sintex Plastics Tech, Sanco Industries and Shyam Telecom hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
