Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.45%
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.45 per cent up at 21651.85.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a positive note on Thursday.Shares of Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 2.04 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 1.13 per cent), Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(up 1.07 per cent), Bharat Forge Ltd.(up 0.85 per cent) and Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 0.73 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Tube Investments of India Ltd.(down 2.73 per cent), Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd.(down 1.1 per cent), TVS Motor Company Ltd.(down 0.85 per cent), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 0.76 per cent) and Ashok Leyland Ltd.(down 0.72 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.45 per cent up at 21651.85.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 80.0 points at 22514.65, while the BSE Sensex stood up 350.81 points at 74227.63.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 ended in the green, while 23 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NHPC, PNB and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Genesys Intnl, Jubilant Life, Indo Tech Trans, Indo Count Ind and MMP Industries hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Dabur India, Nagreeka Capital, GIR Natureview, Lakshmi Precis and BDR Buildcon hit their fresh 52-week lows.
