Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.26%
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.26 per cent up at 20406.45.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a positive note on Wednesday.Shares of Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 4.22 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 2.97 per cent), Tube Investments of India Ltd.(up 1.44 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(up 0.86 per cent) and Bosch Ltd.(up 0.42 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd.(down 2.44 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 1.81 per cent), Bharat Forge Ltd.(down 1.8 per cent), MRF Ltd.(down 0.88 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 0.69 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.26 per cent up at 20406.45.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 21.65 points at 21839.1, while the BSE Sensex stood up 89.64 points at 72101.69.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 ended in the green, while 24 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Steel, NHPC and Jio Financial Servic were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of D P Abhushan, Cubex Tubings, CG Power & Ind., Popular Vehicles and Maruti Suzuki hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SITI Networks, IIFL Finance, Vaxtex Cotfab, Bohra Industries and SCI Land and Assets hit their fresh 52-week lows.
