Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.15% in a weak market

Bharat Forge Ltd.(down 1.53 per cent), TVS Motor Company Ltd.(down 1.4 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.59 per cent), Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(down 0.18 per cent) and Exide Industries Ltd.(down 0.14 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 0.15 per cent at 22146.1 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 25.5 points at 22277.0, while the BSE Sensex was down 154.43 points at 73357.42.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NHPC, REC and Zomato were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Transwarr Fin, IRIS Business Servic, Ajooni Biotech Ltd., Automotive Stamp and CarTrade Tech hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Sanginita Chemicals, Visagar Polytex, GI Engineering, Stampede Cap and Mittal Life Style hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
