Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.1%
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.1 per cent up at 21703.05.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a positive note on Tuesday.Shares of Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 3.24 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(up 2.86 per cent), Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd.(up 1.72 per cent), Tube Investments of India Ltd.(up 0.91 per cent) and Bharat Forge Ltd.(up 0.89 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(down 1.49 per cent), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 1.34 per cent), TVS Motor Company Ltd.(down 1.23 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.08 per cent) and Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 0.87 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.1 per cent up at 21703.05.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 124.6 points at 22147.9, while the BSE Sensex stood down 456.1 points at 72943.68.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 ended in the green, while 34 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, ONGC, Exide Inds. and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Ujaas Energy, Dynacons Sys, Uravi T and Wedge, AAA Technologies and Va Tech Wabag hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while FutureLifestyleFash, MEP Infrastructure, Keerti Knowledge, Bandhan Bank and Signpost India hit their fresh 52-week lows.
