Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.06%
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.06 per cent up at 23353.75.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a positive note on Tuesday.Shares of Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(up 1.27 per cent), Bharat Forge Ltd.(up 0.81 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.76 per cent), MRF Ltd.(up 0.42 per cent) and Ashok Leyland Ltd.(up 0.36 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Apollo Tyres Ltd.(down 2.04 per cent), TVS Motor Company Ltd.(down 1.63 per cent), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 1.1 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 1.01 per cent) and Exide Industries Ltd.(down 0.37 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.06 per cent up at 23353.75.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 27.05 points at 22529.05, while the BSE Sensex stood down 52.63 points at 73953.31.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 ended in the green, while 24 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, RattanIndia Power, NHPC, Indian Railway Fin and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Bharat Bijlee, GRP Ltd, Hindustan Zinc, Rolex Rings and Rail Vikas Nigam hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Revathi Equip, Megastar Foods, Tasty Bite Eatable, Morarjee Text and Sintex Plastics Tech hit their fresh 52-week lows.
