Stock market update: Mining stocks mixed as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading mixed on Wednesday at 10:49AM

Aro Granite Industries Ltd.(up 3.18%), MOIL Ltd.(up 2.29%), The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd.(up 1.26%), 20 Microns Ltd.(up 1.23%), Ashapura Minechem Ltd.(up 1.08%), Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd.(up 0.70%) and KIOCL Ltd.(up 0.21%) were among the top gainers.

Lexus Granito(India)Ltd.(down 2.57%), Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd.(down 2.26%), Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd.(down 1.34%), Oriental Trimex Ltd.(down 0.58%), NMDC Ltd.(down 0.18%), Coal India Ltd.(down 0.14%) and Pokarna Ltd.(down 0.11%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 144.05 points up at 22148.75, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 494.59 points at 72964.89 at around 10:49AM.

Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(up 2.78%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 2.66%), Reliance Industries Ltd.(up 2.43%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 1.9%), Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 1.48%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 1.26%), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 1.03%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 0.91%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(up 0.84%) and UltraTech Cement Ltd.(up 0.75%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(down 1.15%), Britannia Industries Ltd.(down 1.06%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 0.51%), Nestle India Ltd.(down 0.44%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.4%), UPL Ltd.(down 0.39%), Wipro Ltd.(down 0.33%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 0.3%), JSW Steel Ltd.(down 0.3%) and NTPC Ltd.(down 0.2%) were trading in the red.
