Portugal stocks lower at close of trade; PSI down 1.12%

Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Utilities , Consumer Services and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Lisbon, the PSI declined 1.12% to hit a new 1-month low.

The best performers of the session on the PSI were Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS ), which rose 1.13% or 0.08 points to trade at 7.14 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP ) unchanged 0.89% or 0.00 points to end at 0.43 and Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA ) was up 0.79% or 0.02 points to 2.55 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR ), which fell 4.25% or 0.58 points to trade at 13.06 at the close. Greenvolt Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:GVOLT ) declined 2.95% or 0.25 points to end at 8.06 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP ) was down 2.79% or 0.11 points to 3.76.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 20 to 8 and 5 ended unchanged.

Brent oil for December delivery was up 2.60% or 1.93 to $76.22 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.80% or 1.96 to hit $72.00 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.51% or 14.10 to trade at $2,753.00 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 103.89.
