Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology , Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.74%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN ), which rose 1.26% or 0.05 points to trade at 3.79 at the close. Meanwhile, Randstad NV (AS:RAND ) added 1.01% or 0.45 points to end at 44.83 and Shell PLC (AS:SHEL ) was up 0.81% or 0.25 points to 30.59 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML ), which fell 5.12% or 34.20 points to trade at 633.90 at the close. ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd ) declined 1.74% or 0.27 points to end at 15.26 and DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR ) was down 1.42% or 1.65 points to 114.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 63 to 37 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN ) rose to 5-year highs; up 1.26% or 0.05 to 3.79.
The AEX Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.20% or 0.14 to $70.44 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $74.22 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.24% or 6.35 to trade at $2,685.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.40% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 103.29.
