Netherlands stocks lower at close of trade; AEX down 0.10%

Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Materials , Oil & Gas and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.10%.

The best performers of the session on the AEX were BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI ), which rose 2.38% or 2.95 points to trade at 127.10 at the close. Meanwhile, ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd ) added 1.38% or 0.20 points to end at 14.67 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA ) was up 1.24% or 0.18 points to 14.84 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT ), which fell 2.27% or 0.55 points to trade at 23.73 at the close. DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR ) declined 1.60% or 1.65 points to end at 101.45 and Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN ) was down 0.88% or 13.20 points to 1,490.20.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 57 to 44 and 8 ended unchanged.

The AEX Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.

Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.59% or 1.11 to $71.13 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 1.33% or 0.98 to hit $74.39 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 1.10% or 29.85 to trade at $2,679.55 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.26% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP rose 0.65% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 106.71.
