Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas , Technology and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.26% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML ), which rose 2.08% or 13.80 points to trade at 677.90 at the close. Meanwhile, BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI ) added 1.75% or 2.00 points to end at 116.00 and Shell PLC (AS:SHEL ) was up 1.64% or 0.50 points to 31.04 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NN Group NV (AS:NN ), which fell 2.31% or 1.01 points to trade at 42.63 at the close. Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG ) declined 1.91% or 0.49 points to end at 25.11 and Heineken (AS:HEIN ) was down 1.08% or 0.76 points to 69.88.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 59 to 47 and 3 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 2.97% or 2.02 to $70.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 2.65% or 1.90 to hit $73.73 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.44% or 11.74 to trade at $2,670.24 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.21% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 106.22.
