Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials , Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.49%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q ), which rose 3.38% or 4.66 points to trade at 142.58 at the close. Meanwhile, Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV:PEOLES ) added 1.91% or 5.42 points to end at 288.68 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALFAA ) was up 1.81% or 0.28 points to 15.76 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:LABB ), which fell 3.46% or 0.95 points to trade at 26.53 at the close. Coca-Cola Femsa SAB de CV (BMV:KOFUBL ) declined 2.94% or 4.86 points to end at 160.72 and Cemex SAB de CV (BMV:CEMEXCPO ) was down 2.75% or 0.31 points to 10.97.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 127 to 99 and 19 ended unchanged.
Shares in Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALFAA ) rose to 52-week highs; rising 1.81% or 0.28 to 15.76.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.97% or 25.35 to $2,580.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.06% or 0.04 to hit $68.08 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.10% or 0.07 to trade at $71.96 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.14% to 20.55, while EUR/MXN fell 0.70% to 21.72.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 106.39.
