Mexico stocks lower at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC down 0.16%

Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials , Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 0.16% to hit a new 52-week low.

The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were GCC SAB de CV (BMV:GCC ), which rose 2.71% or 4.68 points to trade at 177.35 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (BMV:OMAB ) added 1.74% or 2.83 points to end at 165.19 and Promotora y Operadora de Infraestructura SAB de CV (BMV:PINFRA ) was up 1.68% or 3.01 points to 181.88 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:LABB ), which fell 4.15% or 1.13 points to trade at 26.08 at the close. Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (BMV:BOLSAA ) declined 3.80% or 1.29 points to end at 32.68 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (BMV:KIMBERA ) was down 2.69% or 0.76 points to 27.46.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 118 to 113 and 16 ended unchanged.

Shares in Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (BMV:KIMBERA ) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.69% or 0.76 to 27.46.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.79% or 20.90 to $2,651.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.26% or 0.18 to hit $69.06 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.27% or 0.20 to trade at $73.11 a barrel.

USD/MXN was up 0.93% to 20.28, while EUR/MXN rose 0.38% to 21.38.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.45% at 106.62.
