Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX down 0.81%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the Retail , Food & Beverages and Telecoms sectors led shares higher while losses in the Chemicals , Construction and Industrials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.81%, while the MDAX index added 0.30%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.09%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn ), which rose 2.72% or 0.80 points to trade at 30.17 at the close. Meanwhile, Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n ) added 2.62% or 1.01 points to end at 39.52 and Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG ) was up 2.10% or 0.56 points to 27.20 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:BASFN ), which fell 5.19% or 2.38 points to trade at 43.38 at the close. Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTGGe ) declined 3.99% or 1.56 points to end at 37.57 and Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (ETR:BMWG ) was down 3.21% or 2.24 points to 67.58.

The top performers on the MDAX were Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC ) which rose 9.54% to 167.60, Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn ) which was up 5.64% to settle at 28.86 and TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV ) which gained 4.47% to close at 11.68.

The worst performers were Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG ) which was down 4.90% to 77.70 in late trade, K+S AG (ETR:SDFGn ) which lost 4.63% to settle at 11.22 and Stroeer SE (ETR:SAXG ) which was down 4.40% to 49.52 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn ) which rose 5.64% to 28.86, TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV ) which was up 4.47% to settle at 11.68 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG ) which gained 2.27% to close at 33.40.

The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG ) which was down 2.92% to 7.64 in late trade, Energiekontor AG (ETR:EKTG ) which lost 2.56% to settle at 43.70 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG ) which was down 2.44% to 58.05 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 341 to 274 and 26 ended unchanged.

Shares in Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n ) rose to all time highs; up 2.62% or 1.01 to 39.52. Shares in Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (ETR:BMWG ) fell to 3-years lows; falling 3.21% or 2.24 to 67.58. Shares in Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC ) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 9.54% or 14.60 to 167.60. Shares in Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn ) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 5.64% or 1.54 to 28.86. Shares in Stroeer SE (ETR:SAXG ) fell to 52-week lows; losing 4.40% or 2.28 to 49.52. Shares in Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn ) rose to 5-year highs; rising 5.64% or 1.54 to 28.86. Shares in Energiekontor AG (ETR:EKTG ) fell to 3-years lows; down 2.56% or 1.15 to 43.70.

The DAX volatility index , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 11.41% to 15.45 a new 1-month low.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.46% or 12.50 to $2,693.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.89% or 2.09 to hit $70.27 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 2.50% or 1.89 to trade at $73.74 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.92% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.24% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.59% at 104.98.
