Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials , Oil & Gas and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.87% to hit a new 3-months low, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.88%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Kering SA (EPA:PRTP ), which rose 0.77% or 1.70 points to trade at 223.40 at the close. Meanwhile, LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH ) added 0.59% or 3.50 points to end at 596.00 and Thales (EPA:TCFP ) was up 0.25% or 0.35 points to 142.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM ), which fell 4.78% or 0.61 points to trade at 12.19 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT ) declined 3.77% or 0.90 points to end at 22.99 and Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI ) was down 2.30% or 1.09 points to 46.32.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS ) which rose 81.43% to 0.56, Worldline SA (EPA:WLN ) which was up 3.37% to settle at 6.63 and Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI ) which gained 3.18% to close at 3.83.
The worst performers were Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA ) which was down 6.82% to 7.10 in late trade, Beneteau SA (EPA:CHBE ) which lost 6.38% to settle at 7.63 and Valneva (EPA:VLS ) which was down 6.06% to 1.89 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 332 to 157 and 98 ended unchanged.
Shares in Beneteau SA (EPA:CHBE ) fell to 3-years lows; falling 6.38% or 0.52 to 7.63. Shares in Valneva (EPA:VLS ) fell to all time lows; falling 6.06% or 0.12 to 1.89.
The CAC 40 VIX , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.37% or 9.69 to $2,652.29 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.16% or 0.11 to hit $69.05 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.14% or 0.10 to trade at $72.58 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.17% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 107.01.
