Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Public Utilities , Electric Power and Real Estate sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa lost 0.79% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Grupo Vamos SA (BVMF:VAMO3 ), which rose 5.14% or 0.30 points to trade at 6.14 at the close. Meanwhile, Embraer SA (BVMF:EMBR3 ) added 3.32% or 1.81 points to end at 56.25 and BRF SA (BVMF:BRFS3 ) was up 3.28% or 0.80 points to 25.21 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lojas Renner SA (BVMF:LREN3 ), which fell 5.31% or 0.88 points to trade at 15.68 at the close. Hapvida Participacoes e Investimentos (BVMF:HAPV3 ) declined 4.64% or 0.14 points to end at 2.88 and Cosan SA Industria e Comercio (BVMF:CSAN3 ) was down 4.64% or 0.51 points to 10.49.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 489 to 478 and 54 ended unchanged.
Shares in Hapvida Participacoes e Investimentos (BVMF:HAPV3 ) fell to 52-week lows; falling 4.64% or 0.14 to 2.88. Shares in Cosan SA Industria e Comercio (BVMF:CSAN3 ) fell to 5-year lows; losing 4.64% or 0.51 to 10.49.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 18.07% to 35.68.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.77% or 20.35 to $2,672.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.99% or 1.37 to hit $70.12 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract rose 0.84% or 2.45 to trade at $294.95 .
USD/BRL was up 0.73% to 5.81, while EUR/BRL rose 0.09% to 6.09.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.39% at 107.03.
