Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financials , Consumption and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa lost 0.71%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were BRF SA (BVMF:BRFS3 ), which rose 2.86% or 0.73 points to trade at 26.23 at the close. Meanwhile, CSN Mineracao SA (BVMF:CMIN3 ) added 2.31% or 0.14 points to end at 6.21 and Marfrig Alimentos SA (BVMF:MRFG3 ) was up 1.82% or 0.28 points to 15.69 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hypera SA (BVMF:HYPE3 ), which fell 8.30% or 2.00 points to trade at 22.10 at the close. Cvc Brasil ON (BVMF:CVCB3 ) declined 5.09% or 0.11 points to end at 2.05 and Banco Bradesco SA Pref (BVMF:BBDC4 ) was down 4.39% or 0.66 points to 14.37.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 528 to 424 and 64 ended unchanged.
Shares in BRF SA (BVMF:BRFS3 ) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 2.86% or 0.73 to 26.23. Shares in Hypera SA (BVMF:HYPE3 ) fell to 5-year lows; losing 8.30% or 2.00 to 22.10. Shares in Marfrig Alimentos SA (BVMF:MRFG3 ) rose to 52-week highs; rising 1.82% or 0.28 to 15.69.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 4.28% to 32.63.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.54% or 43.10 to $2,757.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.75% or 1.89 to hit $70.50 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 1.38% or 3.45 to trade at $246.15 .
USD/BRL was up 0.37% to 5.78, while EUR/BRL rose 0.59% to 6.29.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 103.81.
