Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials , Telecoms and Consumption sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa lost 0.19%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Lwsa SA (BVMF:LWSA3 ), which rose 4.22% or 0.18 points to trade at 4.45 at the close. Meanwhile, WEG SA (BVMF:WEGE3 ) added 2.71% or 1.49 points to end at 56.53 and JBS SA (BVMF:JBSS3 ) was up 2.54% or 0.83 points to 33.57 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Azul SA Pref (BVMF:AZUL4 ), which fell 2.97% or 0.18 points to trade at 5.88 at the close. Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais SA USIMINAS Pref (BVMF:USIM5 ) declined 2.39% or 0.15 points to end at 6.12 and YDUQS Participacoes SA (BVMF:YDUQ3 ) was down 2.29% or 0.24 points to 10.25.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 531 to 414 and 61 ended unchanged.
Shares in WEG SA (BVMF:WEGE3 ) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.71% or 1.49 to 56.53.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 11.30% to 35.27.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.46% or 12.30 to $2,677.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 3.91% or 2.89 to hit $70.94 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 2.12% or 5.55 to trade at $256.50 .
USD/BRL was up 0.97% to 5.65, while EUR/BRL rose 1.23% to 6.16.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 103.05.
