Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials , Electric Power and Real Estate sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.14% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Localiza Rent a Car SA (BVMF:RENT3 ), which rose 6.79% or 2.89 points to trade at 45.46 at the close. Meanwhile, Hapvida Participacoes e Investimentos (BVMF:HAPV3 ) added 4.42% or 0.14 points to end at 3.31 and Companhia de Saneamento Basico do Estado de Sao Paulo SABESP (BVMF:SBSP3 ) was up 3.79% or 3.49 points to 95.55 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cogna Educacao SA (BVMF:COGN3 ), which fell 5.41% or 0.08 points to trade at 1.40 at the close. Metalurgica Gerdau SA (BVMF:GOAU4 ) declined 5.05% or 0.58 points to end at 10.90 and Sao Martinho SA (BVMF:SMTO3 ) was down 4.23% or 1.07 points to 24.24.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 659 to 304 and 57 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sao Martinho SA (BVMF:SMTO3 ) fell to 52-week lows; losing 4.23% or 1.07 to 24.24.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 7.18% to 31.67.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.49% or 12.90 to $2,604.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.10% or 0.07 to hit $67.97 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract rose 2.81% or 7.18 to trade at $263.03 .
USD/BRL was unchanged 0.00% to 5.75, while EUR/BRL unchanged 0.00% to 6.11.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.39% at 105.87.
