Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Real Estate , Public Utilities and Electric Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 0.69%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were 3R Petroleum Oleo E Gas Sa (BVMF:BRAV3 ), which rose 9.33% or 1.78 points to trade at 20.86 at the close. Meanwhile, Magazine Luiza SA (BVMF:MGLU3 ) added 6.29% or 0.63 points to end at 10.64 and Companhia Paranaense de Energia Pref B (BVMF:CPLE6 ) was up 5.27% or 0.51 points to 10.18 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were BRF SA (BVMF:BRFS3 ), which fell 2.31% or 0.58 points to trade at 24.38 at the close. Braskem SA (BVMF:BRKM5 ) declined 2.14% or 0.33 points to end at 15.10 and Cosan SA Industria e Comercio (BVMF:CSAN3 ) was down 2.05% or 0.23 points to 11.01.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 564 to 396 and 49 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.46% to 29.00 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.60% or 15.97 to $2,658.57 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.28% or 0.19 to hit $68.75 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract rose 1.48% or 4.50 to trade at $309.30 .
USD/BRL was up 0.20% to 5.81, while EUR/BRL rose 0.12% to 6.09.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 106.85.
