Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Healthcare , Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.18%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (EBR:ARGX ), which rose 2.04% or 11.40 points to trade at 569.60 at the close. Meanwhile, KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC ) added 1.26% or 0.86 points to end at 68.96 and Umicore SA (EBR:UMI ) was up 0.86% or 0.09 points to 10.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Elia (EBR:ELI ), which fell 3.42% or 2.90 points to trade at 81.90 at the close. Aedifica (EBR:AOO ) declined 1.81% or 1.05 points to end at 57.05 and Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB ) was down 1.66% or 0.95 points to 56.20.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 62 to 30 and 19 ended unchanged.
Shares in Argen-X (EBR:ARGX ) rose to all time highs; rising 2.04% or 11.40 to 569.60. Shares in Elia (EBR:ELI ) fell to 3-years lows; down 3.42% or 2.90 to 81.90. Shares in Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB ) fell to 52-week lows; falling 1.66% or 0.95 to 56.20.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.64% or 16.75 to $2,589.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.28% or 0.19 to hit $68.31 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.32% or 0.23 to trade at $72.12 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.56% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.20% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 106.39.
