Polkadot’s governance-focused “Decentralized Mic” event to take place October 30

Polkadot announced the next edition of its “Decentralized Mic” series, which will focus on governance and decentralization within its ecosystem. The event is scheduled for October 30 at 14:00 UTC and will be broadcasted live on X (formerly Twitter) and across Polkadot’s social media channels. 

This edition is set to provide insights on Polkadot’s on-chain governance, transparency, and resource allocation. The session features a lineup of speakers, including contributors working to improve governance within the Polkadot ecosystem. 

The session will be hosted by Zoe McFox, Polkadot’s Head Ambassador, and will include contributors actively working to improve governance within the ecosystem. Alice und Bob, a key figure in the OpenGov Watch initiative, will participate to discuss the ongoing development of governance operations and culture within Polkadot. 

Bill Laboon, the Director of Education and Governance at the Web3 Foundation, will also join the conversation to speak about educational and governance efforts in the broader Web3 space. Raul Romanutti from Just Open Source will contribute perspectives on fostering community-driven and open-source initiatives.

During the event, contributors will discuss key themes such as the dynamics of decentralization, transparency in governance processes, and resource allocation. Participants can engage by submitting their questions before and during the event, with the team promising to address them during the live session.

The announcement comes amidst a broader conversation around the idea of ownership and accountability within decentralized networks.
