Tata Consumer Q4 results today: What to expect and how to trade the stock?

Tata Consumer Q4 results: Tata Consumer to announce Q4 results with expected revenue growth in various segments. Sharekhan predicts volume growth in the domestic tea business. Nuvama expects strong performance from Capital foods. US Coffee volumes may remain steady.

Leading FMCG company will announce its fourth quarter results later today and analysts expect the company to report healthy growth in both bottom line and topline.

Revenue is expected to grow by 11% year-on-year, driven by 17% year-on-year growth in the foods business, a 7% year-on-year growth in Tata Coffee (subsidiary) and 7% year-on-year growth in the India beverages business.

Meanwhile, net profit for the quarter is likely to rise anywhere between 10-20% year-on-year.

Volume growth in the domestic tea business is expected to be at 3%, said Sharekhan.

Nuvama expects capital foods to fetch revenue for around two months in Q4. "Organic foods figures shall be reflected from Q1FY25 onwards," it said.

"We expect Sampann to continue to post a strong quarter with revenues growing 30%-plus YoY. We anticipate Nourish Co growth to remain healthy at 40% and end the year at around Rs 870 crore," the brokerage further noted.

This is slightly below initial expectations due to extended winter along with late festive season (Holi).

On international business, analysts see US Coffee to witness flat volumes and a sales decline of 6% year-on-year. International Tea (on a like-to-like basis, excluding the impact of Joekels and Bangladesh stake consolidation) is likely to clock flat volumes with revenue growth of 7% year-on-year.

In the recent third quarter, the company's consolidated net profit fell 21% year-on-year to Rs 279 crore. Revenue from operations increased 9% year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 3,804 crore.

Stock talk

Sharekhan, even though selective in the consumer goods space, would prefer Tata Consumer, which is expected to report double-digit earnings growth, driven by revamped strategies, product innovation and business simplification.

Shares of have had a decent run at the bourses by rising just over 8% this year.

"The stock is trading sideways to positive trend. Moving above 1190 can lead to further improvement up to 1240 level. Short covering can be seen at this expiry, though at $167 million OI is above its 1 year mean," Emkay said.
