Suzlon Energy, PB Fintech, NHPC among 19 midcap additions by mutual funds in May

What MFs added?

SBI MF added , L&T Technology Services and while Axis MF shopped for , Suzlon Energy and Zydus Lifesciences. Quant was another mutual fund that bought in May along with hydro power company NHPC.

Nippon India MF bought , and while Aditya Birla SL purchased shares of CG Power & Industries, and Petronet LNG.

Mirae MF added , Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services and KPR Mills.

and were lone additions by HDFC MF and ICICI Pru MF.

In May, mutual funds bought shares worth Rs 47,700 crore and alongside foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold shares worth Rs 30,400 crore in Indian secondary market, Nuvama said in a note.

According to the data, released by Association of Mutual Funds in India (Amfi), growth or equity oriented schemes witnessed net inflows of Rs 34,697 crore in May which was up from April inflows of Rs 18,917.09 crore.

The best performing category was the Sectoral/Thematic mutual funds which reported inflows of over Rs 19,000 crore. Around 15 lakh new folios have been added in the sectoral/thematic mutual fund category in May on a month-on-month basis, an analysis of monthly data released by AMFI showed. There were around 1.90 crore folios in April which have been increased to 2.05 crore in May.
