Indian equity markets to remain closed on March 25 for Holi. MCX to have morning closure and evening opening. No trading for agri-commodity.
Indian equity markets will remain closed for trading on Monday, March 25 on account of . The holiday-shortened next week will have only three trading sessions as exchanges will again be shut on Friday, March 29 on account of .On Monday, the country's largest non-agri commodity market, the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) will also be shut for trading in the morning session between 9 am and 5 pm but open for trading in the evening session between 5 pm and 9 pm. As for the agri-commodity index, no trading will take place on this day.
Both MCX and NCDEX will also be closed for trading on Friday as well.
As per the holiday calendar, trading holidays have been announced for 14 days in 2024. Previously, bourses have remained shut on January 26 for Republic Day and March 8 for Shivratri.
Equity markets will remain closed on two occasions in April, once each in May, June, July, August, October and December and twice in November. November 1, Friday is Diwali (Laxmi Pujan) and Muhurat Trading will be conducted by the exchanges, the timings for which will be notified later.
Any change in the holiday calendar will be announced through a separate circular in advance.
Today, markets were trading in the green amid buying activity in most sectors barring IT which fell 3.6% after muted guidance by Accenture for CY24. The technology index has corrected nearly 9% in the last one month.
