Stock market update: Power stocks down as market rises

The 30-share BSE Sensex was up 112.86 points at 72417.74

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading lower on Thursday at 11:25AM

GE T&D India Ltd.(up 2.90%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd.(up 2.02%), PTC India Ltd.(up 1.64%), Indo Tech Transformers Ltd.(up 0.89%), Tata Power Company Ltd.(up 0.50%), GE Power India Ltd.(up 0.15%), Adani Energy Solutions Ltd.(up 0.14%) and NTPC Ltd.(up 0.04%) were among the top gainers.

Power and Instrumentation(Gujarat)Ltd.(down 4.97%), Jyoti Structures Ltd.(down 4.84%), KKV Agro Powers Ltd.(down 4.61%), Torrent Power Ltd.(down 3.69%), Voltamp Transformers Ltd.(down 3.26%), Reliance Power Ltd.(down 2.99%), KPI Green Energy Ltd.(down 2.92%), JSW Energy Ltd.(down 2.71%), Suzlon Energy Ltd.(down 2.55%) and Transformers & Rectifiers(India)Ltd.(down 2.55%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 8.8 points up at 21959.95, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 112.86 points at 72417.74 at around 11:25AM.

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.76%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(up 1.35%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 1.26%), Adani Enterprises Ltd.(up 0.92%), Reliance Industries Ltd.(up 0.91%), Nestle India Ltd.(up 0.71%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(up 0.66%), Asian Paints Ltd.(up 0.62%), Britannia Industries Ltd.(up 0.62%) and JSW Steel Ltd.(up 0.56%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 2.88%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(down 2.35%), LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 1.88%), Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 1.32%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(down 1.09%), UPL Ltd.(down 0.96%), Axis Bank Ltd.(down 0.86%), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.86%), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 0.81%) and Hindalco Industries Ltd.(down 0.72%) were trading in the red.
