Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls

The 30-share BSE Sensex was down 263.67 points at 73855.72

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading lower on Monday at 11:10AM

Torrent Power Ltd.(up 6.94%), KEC International Ltd.(up 6.53%), NLC India Ltd.(up 6.36%), Kalpataru Projects International Ltd.(up 5.48%), Indowind Energy Ltd.(up 4.99%), Energy Development Company Ltd.(up 4.91%), KKV Agro Powers Ltd.(up 4.84%), GE T&D India Ltd.(up 3.10%), Hitachi Energy India Ltd.(up 2.94%) and Reliance Power Ltd.(up 0.89%) were among the top gainers.

Inox Wind Ltd.(down 5.00%), Jyoti Structures Ltd.(down 4.87%), Inox Wind Energy Ltd.(down 4.79%), Transformers & Rectifiers(India)Ltd.(down 4.55%), Gujarat Industries Power Company Ltd.(down 3.60%), Voltamp Transformers Ltd.(down 3.29%), Karma Energy Ltd.(down 2.85%), Tata Power Company Ltd.(down 2.26%), GE Power India Ltd.(down 2.23%) and Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd.(down 2.04%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 67.0 points down at 22426.55, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 263.67 points at 73855.72 at around 11:10AM.

Nestle India Ltd.(up 2.59%), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(up 1.36%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 1.28%), Cipla Ltd.(up 1.28%), Grasim Industries Ltd.(up 1.27%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(up 1.16%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(up 1.11%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 1.1%), Britannia Industries Ltd.(up 0.96%) and SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 0.84%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 4.12%), Tata Steel Ltd.(down 2.29%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(down 1.92%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 1.73%), Infosys Ltd.(down 1.69%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 1.18%), UPL Ltd.(down 1.08%), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 1.02%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 0.96%) and HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 0.94%) were trading in the red.
