Stock market update: Nifty Realty index advances 0.4% in a weak market

Sobha Ltd.(down 2.51 per cent), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd.(down 1.05 per cent), DLF Ltd.(down 0.89 per cent), Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd.(down 0.56 per cent) and Oberoi Realty Ltd.(down 0.09 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Realty index was up 0.4 per cent at 834.9 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 142.16 points at 22004.5, while the BSE Sensex was down 407.9 points at 72689.38.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 12 were trading in the green, while 38 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Indian Railway Fin, NHPC and Infibeam Avenues were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of R K Swamy, Somi Conveyor, Gopal Snacks, Diamond Power and Tarapur Trans hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Mask Investments, The Western India, Lakshmi Precis, Stampede Cap(DVR)and Nandani Creation hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
