Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 1.72%
The Nifty Pharma index closed 1.72 per cent down at 18788.65.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a negative note on Friday.Shares of Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 2.04 per cent), Lupin Ltd.(up 1.1 per cent), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.09 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 0.81 per cent) and Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(up 0.62 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 4.0 per cent), Laurus Labs Ltd.(down 3.84 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(down 3.23 per cent), Gland Pharma Ltd.(down 2.39 per cent) and Abbott India Ltd.(down 2.14 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 1.72 per cent down at 18788.65.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 234.4 points at 22519.4, while the BSE Sensex stood down 793.25 points at 74244.9.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 7 ended in the green, while 43 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SAIL, Reliance Power and BEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Krystal Integrated, Nandan Denim, D P Abhushan, Yuken India and Puravankara hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Sinclairs Hotel, Best Agrolife, HUL, Dabur India and MEP Infrastructure hit their fresh 52-week lows.
