Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 1.01% in a weak market
The Nifty Pharma index was trading 1.01 per cent down at 20437.85.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 10:29AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.Mankind Pharma Ltd.(up 2.25 per cent) and Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up 0.35 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Granules India Ltd.(down 2.54 per cent), Laurus Labs Ltd.(down 2.43 per cent), Biocon Ltd.(down 2.26 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(down 2.21 per cent) and Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(down 2.16 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was down 1.01 per cent at 20437.85 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 191.16 points at 24242.05, while the BSE Sensex was down 645.96 points at 79705.68.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 7 were trading in the green, while 43 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Rail Vikas Nigam, IRFC and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of NDR Auto Components, RPP Infra Proj, IZMO, Marine Electricals and Sky Gold hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vraj Iron & Steel, SecUR Credentials, Filatex Fashions, MEP Infrastructure and Praxis Home Retail hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
