Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.6%
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.6 per cent down at 20601.7.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a negative note on Thursday.Shares of Gland Pharma Ltd.(up 3.45 per cent), Sanofi India Ltd.(up 0.35 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 0.33 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 0.23 per cent) and Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 0.19 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Mankind Pharma Ltd.(down 1.54 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(down 1.44 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(down 1.43 per cent), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.18 per cent) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 1.06 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.6 per cent down at 20601.7.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 8.5 points at 24315.95, while the BSE Sensex stood down 27.43 points at 79897.34.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 ended in the green, while 26 closed in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Indian Renewable, NHPC and IRFC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Mallcom(India), JHS Svendgaard Retai, HPL Electric Power, KCP Sugar and SCI hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SecUR Credentials, JP Associates, Praxis Home Retail, Sarthak Metals and GIR Natureview hit their fresh 52-week lows.
