Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.5%
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.5 per cent down at 19119.5.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a negative note on Friday.Shares of Biocon Ltd.(up 1.26 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 0.82 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(up 0.43 per cent), Abbott India Ltd.(up 0.32 per cent) and Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up 0.23 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 2.99 per cent), Laurus Labs Ltd.(down 2.52 per cent), Mankind Pharma Ltd.(down 1.78 per cent), Lupin Ltd.(down 1.13 per cent) and Sanofi India Ltd.(down 0.95 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.5 per cent down at 19119.5.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 10.56 points at 22957.1, while the BSE Sensex stood down 7.65 points at 75410.39.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 14 ended in the green, while 36 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, JP Power, NHPC and Indian Railway Fin were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of JohnsonCtrls Hitachi, Aegis Logistics, Finolex Cables, Paras Defence and Inox Wind Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Veranda Learning Sol, Revathi Equipment, Future Supply Chain, Atal Realtech and Megastar Foods hit their fresh 52-week lows.
