Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.38%
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.38 per cent down at 20765.45.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a negative note on Tuesday.Shares of Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 6.08 per cent), Gland Pharma Ltd.(up 2.49 per cent), J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 0.88 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 0.73 per cent) and Lupin Ltd.(up 0.68 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 2.19 per cent), Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.62 per cent), Biocon Ltd.(down 1.61 per cent), Mankind Pharma Ltd.(down 1.54 per cent) and Sanofi India Ltd.(down 1.13 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.38 per cent down at 20765.45.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 26.3 points at 24613.0, while the BSE Sensex stood up 51.69 points at 80716.55.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 ended in the green, while 20 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, IRB Infra Dev., YES Bank, IRFC and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Keynote Financial, Umang Dairies, Mukka Proteins, Chennai Petro and Insecticide Ind hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Stampede Cap(DVR), SecUR Credentials, M M Forgings, Tasty Bite Eatable and IndInfravit Trust hit their fresh 52-week lows.
