Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 1.8%
The Nifty Pharma index closed 1.8 per cent up at 19578.0.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a positive note on Friday.Shares of Sanofi India Ltd.(up 5.13 per cent), Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 4.72 per cent), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(up 2.9 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 2.32 per cent) and Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 2.27 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Mankind Pharma Ltd.(down 1.34 per cent) and Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 1.3 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 1.8 per cent up at 19578.0.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 468.75 points at 23290.15, while the BSE Sensex stood up 1618.85 points at 76693.36.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 48 ended in the green, while 2 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, IRB Infra Dev., NHPC and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of IIFL Securities, Zenith Exports, Pennar Ind, AdityaBirlaMoney and Associated Alcohols & Breweries hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Future Supply Chain, Compuage Infocom, Morarjee Text, Neueon Towers and Atal Realtech hit their fresh 52-week lows.
