Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.63% in an upbeat market

Biocon Ltd.(down 1.08 per cent), J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 0.63 per cent), Cipla Ltd.(down 0.49 per cent), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.31 per cent) and Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.21 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.63 per cent at 20041.0 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 56.0 points at 24342.5, while the BSE Sensex was up 205.21 points at 80192.01.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 were trading in the green, while 22 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, HUDCO, Inox Wind Ltd., HFCL and Indian Renewable were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of IFB Agro, Skipper Ltd(PP), Bhagyanagar Ind, Sunflag Iron and Prime Focus hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Future Supply Chain, GIR Natureview, IndInfravit Trust, Ahimsa Ind and 3rd Rock MultiMedia hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
