Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.56% in an upbeat market

Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.43 per cent), Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.16 per cent), Natco Pharma Ltd.(down 0.47 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(down 0.47 per cent) and Mankind Pharma Ltd.(down 0.27 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.56 per cent at 19076.85 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 34.0 points at 22638.85, while the BSE Sensex was up 109.83 points at 74592.61.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 were trading in the green, while 19 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NHPC, REC and JP Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Pearl Polymers, Ram Ratna Wire, Geojit Financial, Uravi T and Wedge and Hindustan Motor hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Adroit Infotech (PP), Kotak Bank, Osia Hyper Retail, Keerti Knowledge and Gloster hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
