Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.54%
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.54 per cent up at 19096.9.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a positive note on Monday.Shares of Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(up 1.82 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(up 1.66 per cent), Laurus Labs Ltd.(up 1.56 per cent), Abbott India Ltd.(up 1.53 per cent) and Lupin Ltd.(up 1.34 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Natco Pharma Ltd.(down 1.97 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(down 0.84 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 0.77 per cent), GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 0.75 per cent) and Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.68 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.54 per cent up at 19096.9.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 223.46 points at 22643.4, while the BSE Sensex stood up 941.12 points at 74671.28.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 ended in the green, while 18 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, IDFC First Bank, Indian Renewable and Bank of Maharashtra were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Archidply Ind, Supreme Ind., Lloyds Steels, Aegis Logistics and SMC Global Secur hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while MPS Infotecnics, Atal Realtech, Future Supply Chain, Gloster and Popular Vehicles hit their fresh 52-week lows.
