Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.51%
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.51 per cent up at 18814.35.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a positive note on Monday.Shares of GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 2.38 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(up 1.63 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 1.49 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 1.42 per cent) and Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(up 0.9 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.38 per cent), Lupin Ltd.(down 1.37 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 0.96 per cent), Pfizer Ltd.(down 0.86 per cent) and Laurus Labs Ltd.(down 0.85 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.51 per cent up at 18814.35.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 32.36 points at 22055.7, while the BSE Sensex stood up 104.99 points at 72748.42.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 ended in the green, while 27 closed in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Tata Steel, NHPC and SJVN were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of The Anup Engg, Reliance Infra, Linde India, Force Motors and Somi Conveyor hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SITI Networks, Sanco Industries, Vaxtex Cotfab, Prudential Sugar and Stampede Cap(DVR)hit their fresh 52-week lows.
