Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.25%
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.25 per cent up at 19739.1.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a positive note on Wednesday.Shares of Mankind Pharma Ltd.(up 2.68 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 1.5 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(up 1.12 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 1.03 per cent) and Cipla Ltd.(up 0.7 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Biocon Ltd.(down 1.62 per cent), Abbott India Ltd.(down 1.51 per cent), Laurus Labs Ltd.(down 0.73 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(down 0.65 per cent) and Lupin Ltd.(down 0.53 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.25 per cent up at 19739.1.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 58.11 points at 23322.95, while the BSE Sensex stood up 149.98 points at 76606.57.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 ended in the green, while 16 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Hind Const Co, YES Bank, Reliance Power and IRB Infra Dev. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of ICE Make Refrigeration, OM Metal Infra, Gravita India, Associated Alcohols & Breweries and Panache Digilife hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Karda Const, Osia Hyper Retail, Kronox Lab Sciences, Kanani Inds and GIR Natureview hit their fresh 52-week lows.
