The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.14 per cent up at 18886.55.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a positive note on Wednesday.Shares of Sanofi India Ltd.(up 4.51 per cent), Cipla Ltd.(up 3.64 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(up 1.37 per cent), Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.23 per cent) and Laurus Labs Ltd.(up 0.85 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Mankind Pharma Ltd.(down 2.58 per cent), Abbott India Ltd.(down 1.38 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 1.16 per cent), Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.06 per cent) and Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 0.88 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.14 per cent up at 18886.55.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 17.3 points at 22200.55, while the BSE Sensex stood down 117.58 points at 72987.03.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 ended in the green, while 27 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NHPC, Canara Bank and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Kirloskar Bros., Kirloskar Pneumatic, ABB Power, D-Link(India)and Associated Alch hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Butterfly Gandhi, Future Supply Chain, GSS Infotech, Mask Investments and GIR Natureview hit their fresh 52-week lows.
