Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.06% in an upbeat market

J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 1.15 per cent), Mankind Pharma Ltd.(down 1.12 per cent), Abbott India Ltd.(down 1.02 per cent), Laurus Labs Ltd.(down 0.87 per cent) and Sanofi India Ltd.(down 0.78 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.06 per cent at 19145.65 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 45.96 points at 22521.8, while the BSE Sensex was up 301.49 points at 74179.64.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NHPC, PNB and REC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Ganges Securities, The Anup Engg, Gokul Agro Resources, Rane(Madras)and Rainbow Childrens hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while MPS Infotecnics, Signpost India, Zee Ent., Ibull Housing Fin(PP)and JNK India hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
