Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.05%
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.05 per cent up at 19133.4.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a positive note on Friday.Shares of Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(up 2.43 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 2.43 per cent), Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 2.27 per cent), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(up 0.99 per cent) and Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(up 0.96 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Gland Pharma Ltd.(down 2.09 per cent), Abbott India Ltd.(down 1.87 per cent), Biocon Ltd.(down 1.84 per cent), Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.99 per cent) and Mankind Pharma Ltd.(down 0.81 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.05 per cent up at 19133.4.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 172.36 points at 22475.85, while the BSE Sensex stood down 732.96 points at 73878.15.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 ended in the green, while 35 closed in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, BHEL, NHPC and IFCI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Rane Brake Lin, Arrow Greentech, Oriental Hotels, Univastu India and Hindustan Zinc hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Adroit Infotech (PP), Emami Paper Mil, Ibull Housing Fin(PP), Signpost India and Osia Hyper Retail hit their fresh 52-week lows.
