Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.04%
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.04 per cent up at 19202.05.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a positive note on Monday.Shares of Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(up 1.82 per cent), Cipla Ltd.(up 1.42 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 1.24 per cent), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.01 per cent) and Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(up 0.56 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Granules India Ltd.(down 3.76 per cent), Laurus Labs Ltd.(down 2.88 per cent), Pfizer Ltd.(down 2.71 per cent), GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 1.98 per cent) and Sanofi India Ltd.(down 1.46 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.04 per cent up at 19202.05.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 160.9 points at 22332.65, while the BSE Sensex stood down 616.75 points at 73502.64.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 ended in the green, while 31 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Infibeam Avenues, Jio Financial Servic and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Godfrey Philips, Chemfab Alkalis, KEC Int., Jio Financial Servic and Kirloskar Bros. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vibhor Steel Tubes, GRM Overseas, HMA Agro Industries, Exicom Tele-Systems and Ibull Housing Fin(PP)hit their fresh 52-week lows.
