Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.81%
The Nifty IT index closed 0.81 per cent down at 33442.55.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a negative note on Wednesday.Shares of L&T Technology Services Ltd.(up 0.57 per cent) and LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 0.08 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Persistent Systems Ltd.(down 1.78 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.22 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 1.13 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(down 0.81 per cent) and HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 0.5 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 0.81 per cent down at 33442.55.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 34.41 points at 22402.4, while the BSE Sensex stood up 114.49 points at 73852.94.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 ended in the green, while 22 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, SAIL, YES Bank, NMDC Steel and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Raj Oil Mills, Steel City Securitie, Chennai Petro, Yuken India and Aegis Logistics hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Atal Realtech, GIR Natureview, BDR Buildcon, IndInfravit Trust and Ahimsa Industries L hit their fresh 52-week lows.
