Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.56% in a weak market
The Nifty IT index was trading 0.56 per cent down at 32749.75.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 11:00AM(IST)on Monday in a weak market.Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 0.35 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Persistent Systems Ltd.(down 2.27 per cent), MphasiS Ltd.(down 1.32 per cent), Coforge Ltd.(down 1.0 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 0.86 per cent) and Wipro Ltd.(down 0.82 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was down 0.56 per cent at 32749.75 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 186.41 points at 21868.8, while the BSE Sensex was down 628.48 points at 72035.99.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 9 were trading in the green, while 41 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Piramal Pharma, Tata Motors and Zomato were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Kapston Facilities, D-Link(India), ABB India, Piramal Pharma and Dolphin Offshore hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Medico Remedies, Morarjee Text, Rajvir Ind, Brightcom Group and SRM Contractors hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
