Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.38% in an upbeat market

Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 1.04 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(down 1.0 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.44 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(down 0.31 per cent) and HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 0.13 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was down 0.38 per cent at 32949.5 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 7.36 points at 22111.4, while the BSE Sensex was up 0.23 points at 72776.36.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 were trading in the green, while 24 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Zomato, NHPC and Indian Railway Fin were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of HG Infra Engg, Kapston Facilities, Aarti Pharmalabs, MRO-TEK Realty and Cords Cable Ind hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Medico Remedies, SAB Events & Governa, GI Engineering, BKM Industries and Ind Swift Ltd hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
