Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.3% in a weak market

Wipro Ltd.(down 0.76 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(down 0.75 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.61 per cent), MphasiS Ltd.(down 0.54 per cent) and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.28 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was down 0.3 per cent at 35082.1 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 74.05 points at 22022.7, while the BSE Sensex was down 297.58 points at 72534.36.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 16 were trading in the green, while 34 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Indian Railway Fin, Indus Towers and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Onelife Capital, Deep Industries, Apar Industries, Wonder Fibromats and PVP Ventures Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SITI Networks, Compuage Infocom, SCI Land and Assets, Infomedia Press and IIFL Finance hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
